Trinity standout and former Louisville commit David Johnson has announced a final list of three schools, and U of L is included. Xavier and Georgia are the other two finalists for the four-star guard.
Johnson originally committed to Louisville last September, but decommitted in October following the school’s involvement in the FBI’s probe into college basketball and the firing of Rick Pitino. As a junior in 2017-18, Johnson averaged 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists, helping Trinity capture the 7th Region title.
Despite his decommitment, Johnson remained a fixture at Louisville games last season and also maintained a tight relationship with several players on the team. He also has an NBA superstar attempting to steer him in the proper direction.

Johnson could continue the recent trend of local players choosing to stay home and take on a major role for the Cardinals. He become the second Trinity player in the last five years to accept a scholarship to U of L, joining current Dallas Maverick Ray Spalding.
