The era of “Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium” is officially no more.
Alternate headline: “Papa is no longer in the house.”

Louisville will play its home football games inside “Cardinal Stadium” for the time being, at least until it finds a new corporate sponsor or John Schnatter — who is still the individual owner of the naming rights — decides to take some course of action.
Until something happens, I’m in favor of doing a letterboard type deal where we give the stadium a new name every day based on how we’re feeling in the morning.

You can’t tell me it wouldn’t drum up some bonus intrigue and excitement.
