#57 Dayna Kinnaird

Class: RS Freshman

Ht/Wt: 6-3/238

Position: Defensive Line

Hometown: Jeffersonville, IN

Thoughts: Dayna came to the Cards via Jeff High last season (couldn’t give Romeo a call, tell him whats up, man?!) and took a redshirt in 2017 after suffering an injury back in the fall. Dayna was a two way player for the Red Devils back in high school, playing up on the line on offense and defense, but just like Dumervil-Jean yesterday, Kinnaird appears to be a better fit at the college level on the defensive side of the ball.

Dayna was a multi-sport athlete in high school, not only pushing little Hoosiers around on the football field but was also out slangin’ rocks (shot put) for the track team in his spare time, excelling in both. A team captain for the track team, Defensive Player of the Year and All-conference in football, Male Athlete of the year…Dayna is used to receiving accolades, but last year he got to hand out one of his own

I’m not sure how Dayna will fall into the rotation this season as there hasn’t been much chatter about him in the offseason. My thoughts are that he’ll be a nice piece of the practice squad this year with a chance to maybe get some special teams reps since he has good size and speed or maybe sneak into a game or two late. Just as I highlighted yesterday, some of these guys will be using 2018 not only as an opportunity to grow but as an audition for 2019 when we lose a couple more players up front. Kinnaird, who still has four years of eligibility left, falls into that category.

Sweet Tweet:

For those who attended the Purdue game last year at Lucas-Oil, do you remember when that female Card’s fan stood up during a break and flexed all over everyone in the whole damn stadium???? Say hello to Mrs. Kinnaird! (Who also appears to be quite the Louisville fan from way back). Couldn’t make this stuff up, folks.

I tried to track down a photo and/or video of this but was unsuccessful, if anyone has it throw it in the comments or shoot me a message, it would be well worth everyone's time.
