#39 Aaron Floyd

Class: Senior

Ht/Wt: 5-10/201

Position: Cornerback

Hometown: Florence, Y’all

Twitter: @GrandpaCB_39_

Thoughts: Floyd is a Senior on the Cards squad who started out as a practice player and worked his way into getting some live PT last year against Syracuse and Murray State. Floyd has certainly done his part in the three seasons he’s been here and I was glad to see him get some reps in 2017. While the grad transfers and some young bloods like likely fill the two-deep once the depth chart is released I wouldn’t be surprised to see Floyd get some reps when the scenario is right. Look for Floyd to fight for some playing time this fall and try and work his way into the rotation his last year on the team.

Big thanks to Floyd for his contributions over the years. Glad to have him as part of the program and looking forward to celebrating him and the other guys in the senior class at the end of the year.

We’re all in the same boat. 39 Days until kickoff and we got a few weeks to burn through some series. If you haven’t seen The Staircase, well worth your time, and like I touched on the other day the third Season of Last Chance U is now available, as well. What are the ‘can’t miss’ items fellow Cards needs to watch before they’re knee deep in college football in five weeks?

#39 Taven Graves

Class: RS Freshman

Ht/Wt: 5-5/177

Position: Running back

Hometown: Rineyville, KY

Twitter: @Taven21

Thoughts: Graves is a walk-on to the Cards program from North Hardin down in the Rineyville area. Graves took a redshirt last year and while I haven’t read much about him from the staff I watched his Hudl video and, well, came away impressed. Little man can book it…

You see that speed, that shiftiness, that elusiveness…the young man looks like a ball player for sure. While I certainly think Dae Williams, Trey Smith, and Colin Wilson are the trio leading the running back by committee approach I’d love to see Graves get a few snaps late in some games this year to see what he can do against some D-I talent. As much as I’d love to tell you I know the ins and outs of each and every player on the roster I knew fairly little about Graves before digging in on him but now I’m excited about what he brings to the table.
