#46 Brendan Lowery

Class: RS Junior

Ht/Wt: 5-11/200

Position: Long Snapper

Hometown: Barrington, IL

Thoughts: Lowery was in a full blown position battle last season at this time, fighting side by side with Mitch Hall and Ryan Betlach for the starting gig at long snapper. After the departure of Colin Holba (NFL draft pick Colin Holba, I might add) the spot was available to be filled, and while Betlach and Lowery had the leg up on Hall with their experience it turned out that the Card’s had offered Hall a scholarship for a reason. He was pretty dang good.

Even though Hall won the starting spot Lowery got some game action last season against Murray State. In fact, you can check out a nice snap from Lowery in the demolition of the Racers right here…

Well done B-Low.

If you read my post on Hall a few days ago I think it’s safe to say he has the starters job well in hand for 2018, but Lowery will continue to be a nice piece of ‘The Regulators’ this year, contributing when called upon and pushing Hall every day at practice to get better, and of course, even though we don’t see it as frequently with long snappers the dreaded injury bug shows no favorites and Lowery becomes a vital aspect of the special teams unit if that occurs.

Sweet Tweet: Protected tweets from Long snappers are like Christmas morning in the CardinalStrong house. You leave me with no other choice….
