A five-star prospect out of La Lumiere in Indiana (the same school that produced Brian Bowen), 247Sports composite rankings currently have Stewart as the No. 8 overall player in the class of 2019. Stewart will spend part of next month trying to make the USA Basketball U17 team during tryouts in Colorado Springs.
Playing in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League this summer for the New York-based “City Rocks” squad, Stewart is averaging 17.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game and is a finalist to be named EYBL MVP.
We’ve taken a few recruiting hits this summer, so it’s extra nice to see Louisville back as a serious contender for one of the top recruits in the country. Baby steps.
