Perhaps it was the lingering disappointment from blowing a lead in the 9th inning the day before, but the Louisville baseball team played one of the sloppiest games of its 2018 season in a 10-3 series deciding loss to No. 4 NC State on Sunday.
The Cardinals committed three errors and allowed five unearned runs to score in the loss.
Though U of L hasn’t been swept yet, the Cards have still dropped four consecutive series in conference play. They now sit at 10-11 overall and 6-9 in the ACC.
Up next, the Cardinals host Northern Kentucky on Tuesday at 6 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium. After that they’ll head to Blacksburg and try to get their ACC mojo back with a weekend series against Virginia Tech.
Here’s how the ACC standings currently look as we’re about halfway through the regular season:

Louisville has already dealt with North Carolina, NC State, Florida State and Clemson, and has a much more manageable conference slate sitting in front of it.
Time to get it rolling.
