The first of Louisville’s major grad transfer targets is off the board. Florida Gulf Coast’s Zach Johnson announced on Twitter Thursday night that he will be continuing his career at Miami.
Johnson took an official visit to U of L on Tuesday.
First of All I Would Like To Thank My FGCU Family For Everything During My Time There The Relationships I Have Built Will Never Be Forgotten. With That Being Said I am Proud and Happy To Announce That I Will Be Attending The University of Miami For My Grad Year. #CANES pic.twitter.com/xYBawAH5QS

Johnson averaged 16.1 ppg in 2017-18, the second-best for a Florida Gulf Coast team that won the Atlantic Sun’s regular season title. He shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Of the three major grad transfer names that Louisville has been closely tied to, this is the one I thought could have helped the Cards the most. Major bummer.
