Louisville’s Myisha Hines-Allen was selected by the Washington Mystics with the 19th overall pick of the 2018 WNBA Draft Thursday night in New York. She becomes the eighth U of L player to be taken in the WNBA Draft and the highest pick since Shoni Schimmel was selected eighth in 2014.
The 2016 ACC Player of the Year, Hines-Allen left Louisville with 2,028 career points and 1,151 career rebounds. Only Angel McCoughtry, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2009 WNBA Draft, also finished her Cardinal career with more than 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Hines-Allen ranks second in program history in all-time rebounds and third in points.

In Washington, Hines-Allen will join forces with former Louisville standout Asia Taylor. Taylor was the 36th overall selection in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx.
Congratulations to Myisha on taking the next step forward in her career. Washington is lucky to have you.
