Donovan Mitchell will replace Orlando’s Aaron Gordon in this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend. Gordon reportedly withdrew Monday because of a strained left hip flexor.
Mitchell, who had been scheduled to compete in the NBA Skills Challenge, shared his feelings when he found out the news.

Also participating in the 2018 Dunk Contest will be the Pacers’ Victor Oladipo, the Lakers’ Larry Nance Jr. and the Mavs’ Dennis Smith Jr. The contest will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 on TNT at 8:30PM ET.
Mitchell is averaging 19.7 points per game, 3.5 assists per game and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Utah Jazz.
