After pulling in 31 percent of the vote, Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra has earned the title of Card Chronicle Person of the Year for 2018.

Tyra edged out David Padgett (22%), Jeff Walz (21%), Dr. Neeli Bendapudi (14%) and Chris Mack (12%) to become the 11th recipient of what is easily the most prestigious honor in the city of Louisville.

In 2018, Tyra attempted to steady the still shaking ship of U of L athletics by consistently interacting with fans, landing Chris Mack to coach the men’s basketball program, firing Bobby Petrino after the Cardinal football season went completely and unexpectedly off the rails, and then hiring Scott Satterfield to take over.

Here is the updated list of CC POY honorees:

2007 - Tom Jurich
2008 - David Padgett
2009 - Vacant (we forgot to do it)
2010 - Charlie Strong
2011 - Charlie Strong and Preston Knowles (tie)
2012 - Tom Jurich
2013 - Teddy Bridgewater
2014 - Russ Smith
2015 - Kelsi Worrell
2016 - Lamar Jackson
2017 - Brendan McKay

Congrats to Vince and thanks to everyone who voted.
