Louisville Football: Jaden Johnson Decommits

Louisville loses another commitment in the 2019 class.

After the news today that Scott Satterfield will be named the next coach of Louisville Football, Jade Johnson decided to reopen his recruitment. Johnson had been a longtime commitment to UofL but decided it would be best for him to look at all of his options. It seems that he had a plan to wait until Louisville made a hire to decide what he wanted to do and it’s hard to blame him for that.

Johnson is a three-star prospect out of Tennessee and I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that Satterfield makes it a priority to reach out to him. The offense that he runs needs a quarterback that can mix in some running ability and Johnson can definitely do that. He’s a traditional pocket guy but his legs can allow him to take on the option aspects of Satterfield’s scheme. Louisville is also in dire need of quarterbacks right now. Malik Cunningham and Jawon Pass are the only scholarship quarterbacks on the roster and both struggled for most of the season.

While I’m not sure where Johnson’s recruitment will go from here, I do think he will have plenty of suitors. Georgia offered him shortly after he committed to Louisville and I wouldn’t be shocked if some other quarterback needy schools gave him a call.

We wish Jaden the best going forward and hope that maybe things can work out with the new staff.
