For a couple days now, there have been multiple reports that Vince Tyra has been courting a “mystery coach” who “checks all the boxes” to become Louisville’s new head football coach.
On Monday morning, Football Scoop reported that Tyra was meeting with the mystery coach later in the day, and that it was interim Maryland head coach Matt Canada. That report has since been refuted by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
#Louisville might have a mystery candidate involved besides Appalachian State’s Scott Satterfield, but it’s not Matt Canada, sources tell me. Probably not Dana Holgorsen either. Satterfield still the likely choice for the Cardinals and a decision should come very soon.— Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg) December 3, 2018
So the question remains: Who is Louisville’s mystery coach?
The fans have some ideas.
Only person this mystery coach could be is David Padgett— Most Wonderful Time Charlie (@GoodTymeCharles) December 3, 2018
Louisville's mystery candidate? Guess what, it's you.— Mike Rutherford (@CardChronicle) December 3, 2018

It's Jerry Eaves. He is the mystery candidate.— Go Cards! (@JTWard831) December 3, 2018
And of course ...
So who really is the mystery candidate? It probably doesn’t matter because Scott Satterfield is almost certainly going to get the job.
But it’s Naydenov.
