Louisville has had an eye on some top-100 guys in the junior class, but as is the case with most programs, the Cardinals have also been looking at some under-the-radar talent. In Louisville’s case, that talent includes John Hugley. The forward out of Brush High School in Ohio, holds 11 offers including Xavier, Nebraska, Buffalo, and many others, and now he’s hoping to snag an offer from Chris Mack.
Louisville’s recruitment of Hugley began in October. He had plans to head down to UofL and then enjoy Louisville Live, but scheduling didn’t work out. Since then, he’s been watched twice by the Cards, and has now found a confirmed date to head down and take a visit.
Hugley confirms to Card Chronicle that he will take his unofficial visit when Louisville faces off against the Kentucky Wildcats on Dec. 29.
“I’m real excited to head down and watch them compete against UK,” Hugley said.
Just like many other people, Hugley has been impressed with what Chris Mack has done to turn the program around in only a few months.
“I think Louisville is somewhere I could see myself playing. The campus looks very nice I don’t really know to much about the school but for the basketball program, Coach Mack is really bringing the program back up to how it used to be,” Hugley said.
Hugley, who stands 6’8 and weighs 220 pounds, has already officially visited Nebraska and has plans to officially visit Penn State.
