According to a report from Rivals.com’s Dave Lackford, Louisville captain and defensive end Jonathan Greenard will transfer to Florida and spend his final collegiate season as a Gator in 2019. Greenard is set to graduate from U of L in December.
A redshirt junior in 2018, Greenard suffered a wrist injury in the season-opener against Alabama, and missed the rest of the season. He was coming off a 2017 season in which he led Louisville in both sacks (7) and tackles for loss (15.5). Greenard was one of four Cardinals voted team captain before the start of the 2018 season.
At Florida, Greenard would be reunited with Todd Grantham, who was his defensive coordinator at Louisville in 2015 and 2016.
It’s fine. Everything’s fine.
UPDATE:
A spokesperson for the Louisville football program says that Greenard and his family have confirmed with U of L athletics that they have not had any communication with Florida, and that Greenard has not put his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
