First of all, I’d sincerely like to thank the person who scheduled this game at the same time as the football game. I owe you a beer. You saved my Friday night. Maybe my whole weekend.
That said, things started slowly for the Cards down in Tennessee. Halfway through the first quarter the score was 4-4. In the second quarter the Mocs actually took the lead at 21-20 but Louisville went on a run to go into halftime up 28-21. Coach Walz said, “We were a little sloppy offensively in the first half, but I thought our defense was much better.”

Then came the third quarter.
Out of the gate it was the Kylee and Sam show. Both of them scored or assisted on the first few baskets of the half. The improvement on the inside game opened up the perimeter for the shooters and Louisville began to pour it on. They outscored UT-Chattanooga 30-10 in the quarter and never looked back.
Asia Durr had her usual solid night leading all scorers with 24 points in just 3 quarters. Dana Evans had game-high 9 assists. Coach Walz said, “Durr really put on a show in the 3rd quarter but then again our kids did a good job getting her the ball in places that she could score.” However, he still found some areas for improvement: “I thought we switched [on defense] and did a nice job, but we’ve got to do a better job rebounding the ball. We only came up with seven offensive rebounds.”
