—Spread check: Clemson by 39.5.
—I love Kerry Rhodes for a lot of reasons, most of them involve his use of the word “sheesh.”
Dude we are 40 point under dogs to Clemson. Sheesh.

—Louisville women’s soccer standouts Brooklyn Rivers and Emina Ekic have both been named All-ACC.
—The Cardinal field hockey team was upset in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament by sixth-seeded Wake Forest. They’ll now wait and see if their resume is good enough for an NCAA tournament bid. The selection show is Sunday at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com.
—Despite the excitement surrounding the upcoming season, the returning members of the U of L women’s basketball team say they’re still haunted by last year’s Final Four loss to Mississippi State.
“For me personally, I will never let it go,” guard Arica Carter said at the team’s tipoff luncheon. “I will always keep it with me. Every time I get the ball or pass the ball, that last game will always be in my mind, driving me forward.”
Some, like Jones, watched the film multiple times. Norman said the coaching staff never collectively discussed the game but that it played occasionally on the office video feed. Others, like guard Asia Durr, watched it only once before filing it away.
”This is what people don’t get: The mind is so powerful, whatever you think, [it’s] going to happen,” Durr said. ”So if you’re constantly thinking about that game, how can you play your best? You’ve got to put that down, as bad as it hurts.”
Head coach Jeff Walz was blunt.
”It sucks,” he said. “There’s no other words for it. There’s actually a few other words for it, but I don’t want to say those. ... Always you sit there and you go back and replay everything. It’s a tough pill to swallow.”
—U of L has launched an Asia Durr specific website — Asia25.com — to chronicle all things Asia Durr throughout the superstar’s final season as a Card.
—Andy Katz does not have Louisville in his preseason field of 68.
—Very cool move by UVA.
Instead of our traditional game day buttons, today we'll be passing out stickers in support of the city of Pittsburgh. Stop by our tailgate starting at 4:30 pm today to pick one up and sign a card that we will send to the Tree of Life synagogue. pic.twitter.com/0t3LT2vbr2

—Big Red Louie examines where the second era of Bobby Petrino at Louisville went wrong.
—The Louisville men’s soccer team will host Notre Dame in Sunday’s ACC tournament quarterfinal match. Here’s a preview.
—This is thoroughly humiliating.

—Shakin’ the Southland dishes out a healthy helping of Louisville hate.
—The CJ’s Jake Lourim likes Clemson big.
Prediction: Clemson 59, Louisville 6
Even the intangibles in this game favor the Tigers. The game is at Clemson. Louisville is coming off a loss. Clemson is coming off a win. The Tigers aren’t missing any stars to injuries. They won’t mind the style points after the unveiling of the first College Football Playoff rankings this week. The Cards are susceptible to let Clemson score on every possession, like Georgia Tech and Wake Forest did. Without an offense that can break through Clemson’s defense, this one is going to be ugly.
—Shoutout to Louisville City FC for rolling back to the USL cup via a 5-1 rout in the Eastern Conference finals.
—DeVante Parker is healthy and back as a force to be reckoned with.
—Yet another very cool move by Chris Mack.
Thanks to @CoachChrisMack and his staff for inviting the Athletic Department staff to practice today. Tons of passion, energy and effort across the board. For this basketball junkie it was an awesome way to spend the afternoon. @GoCards pic.twitter.com/rfXKTHpGP9

—You can check out the preseason media polls for every conference in college basketball here.
—Here’s the quick U of L preview of the basketball team’s exhibition game against Simmons on Saturday.
—Bill Belichick thinks Jaire Alexander is awesome.
In fact, Belichick loved what Alexander did before he got to the NFL. Belichick said the Patriots were very high on Alexander coming out of Louisville, and if the Packers hadn’t taken him with the 18th overall pick, the Patriots might have taken him with the 23rd overall pick.
“He’s going to have a great career,” Belichick said of Alexander. “Thought it was an excellent pick. It was a little bit ahead of where we were picking. One of the top players on the board. Great kid. Great energy. I think he’ll be one of the top corners in the league for quite a while now.”
—Jaire thinks the praise is “pretty cool.”
—The best video of 2018 came from Rupp Arena last night.

—The Louisville men’s and women’s swimming teams both continue to kill it.
—Tiger Net likes Clemson over Louisville, 52-6.
—And finally, myself, John Ramsey and Howie Lindsey are rocking (or something) the U of L pregame from 9-10:30 this morning on 790-KRD. You can listen here.
I did not pick Louisville to win. But go Cards, beat Clemson/Simmons.
