The ACC announced Monday that Louisville’s season finale against Kentucky on Nov. 24 will kickoff at 7 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2. This will be the first time since the Battle for the Governor’s Cup moved to the last week of the regular season that the game has received an evening kickoff.
Louisville will be looking for its seventh win in its last eight games against Kentucky, and will also be looking to take control of an all-time series that is currently tied at 15. Six of those wins for Kentucky took place between 1912 and 1924. U of L leads the modern series, 15-9.
Also notable is the fact that this will likely be the first time Kentucky has ever faced Louisville while nationally ranked. The Cardinals have carried a top 25 ranking into the rivalry game eight times since the series resumed in 1994.
It’s a late kickoff, it’s a holiday weekend, Louisville has absolutely nothing to lose and one of the most hilarious victories in the history of the rivalry to gain .... I’m excited about this. More excited than I’ve been about anything surrounding the 2018 Cardinal football season since Sept. 1.
