A little over two years ago, Louisville traveled to South Carolina to face a Clemson team that was unbeaten, coming off a national runner-up finish, and which would go on to win the national championship. The Cardinals were favored to win that game.
On Saturday, just 25 months later, Louisville will walk into Death Valley (if the current line holds) as a 38-point underdog.
According to Kelly Dickey, this will be the largest point spread against U of L since the Cardinals were a 48-point underdog for a game against Florida State on Oct. 17, 1987. The Seminoles won that game, 32-9.
The good news? Since 1985, Louisville is 5-0 against the spread in games where they’re an underdog of 29 points or more.
Soo ... yeah, Cards are back.
