Bobby Petrino has suspended sophomore tight end Kemari Averett from all football related activities and access today. Jake Lourim of the Courier-Journal is reporting that Averett has been charged with fourth-degree domestic violence and first-degree wanton endangerment. Vince Tyra and Petrino released a joint statement touting accountability and no tolerance for inappropriate conduct.
Averett has shuffled between the starting tight end spot and the second string spot throughout the season. He had two touchdowns in the season opener against Alabama but Micky Crum has taken most of the snaps as the top tight end since then.
