It’s the most-needed football bye week in the history of Louisville athletics, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any major Cardinal sporting events to look forward to this weekend.
The unofficial start to the 2018-19 U of L men’s basketball season will be Sunday when the Red-White Scrimmage goes down at 2 p.m. inside the KFC Yum Center. We now know the assigned teams for Sunday’s event.
WHITE TEAM: V.J. King, Steven Enoch, Khwan Fore, Ryan McMahon, Jordan Nwora, Will Rainey and Jacob Redding
RED TEAM: Christen Cunningham, Akoy Agau, Wyatt Battaile, Jo Griffin, Darius Perry, Dwayne Sutton and Malik Williams
The only really interesting thing here to me is that Perry and Cunningham are on the same team. Cunningham is the only natural point guard on the roster, and so not putting Darius up against him on the White Team says to me that Mack plans to use Perry primarily at the two this season. Or at least he plans to start him there ... if Darius earns a starting spot.
Tickets for the scrimmage, priced at $10 each, are on sale at the U of L Ticket Office, located near Gate 2 of Cardinal Stadium at 2800 South Floyd Street. The ticket office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased by visiting Ticketmaster online at www.Ticketmaster.com, calling 1-800-745-3000, or by visiting any Ticketmaster Ticket Center.
