It’s official. The most accomplished individual player in the history of Louisville football has played his final game as a Cardinal.
Lamar Jackson announced on Twitter Friday morning that he is foregoing his final season of college eligibility in favor of entering the NFL Draft. His announcement included a heartfelt message to everyone associated with U of L football.

There’s no point in getting into all the records Jackson set in his three seasons here or how much he elevated the perception of the Louisville football program, because we’d be here all day.
Put simply, Jackson is the best to ever do it in a Cardinal football uniform. He wowed the college football world for three years, and every snap he took was a gift to us all. In the process, he handled himself with a quiet grace that has become atypical of people who ascend to his position in life.
We’re all better off because Lamar Jackson chose to attend U of L, and we’ll all be watching with bated breath to see what he does next. Set the NFL on fire, kid.
