Louisville OL Geron Christian declares for the NFL Draft

Best of luck to the big guy.

NCAA Football: Louisville at Houston Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Late Wednesday night, Louisville offensive tackle Geron Christian joined Jaire Alexander as Cardinal underclassmen who have declared themselves eligible for the NFL Draft.

A three-year starter, the 6’6, 315-pound Christian played a huge part in a Cardinal offensive line that was dramatically improved in 2017. He earned honorable mention All-ACC honors at the end of the year, and will leave U of L having started 39 consecutive games.

Losing Christian is a big blow that will be even more difficult to stomach if fellow lineman Lukayus McNeil also chooses to make the leap to the NFL. Mike Summers will once again have his work cut out for him, but we’ve seen him turn water into wine before.

Best of luck to Geron in the months ahead.
