The Los Angeles Athletic Club announced today on espnW.com that University of Louisville junior guard Asia Durr has been named to the John R. Wooden Award® presented by Wendy’s® Midseason Top 25. Chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on their performances during the first half of the 2017-18 season, the list comprises of 25 student-athletes who are front-runners for the sport’s most prestigious honor.
Durr ranks third in the ACC and 31st in the country with 20.2 points per game and her 24.5 points-per-game in ACC play leads the league. Her 56 made 3-point field goals lead the ACC and rank 10th in the country, while her 47.5 3-point field goal percentage ranks second in the league and seventh in the nation.
She is connecting on 3.29 3-pt field goals per game, which ranks second in the ACC and 17th in the NCAA. She is shooting 84.8 percent from the stripe, which ranks fourth in the conference and 57th nationally.
Her 1,378 points rank 13th in school history and she has 219 made 3-point field goals in her career, which ranks fifth in program history. Last year, she connected on 119 3-pointers, which ranked second nationally and set a school record.
