The summer of disrespect has continued for Lamar Jackson, who despite being the most recent recipient of the Heisman Trophy, isn’t even the Associated Press’ First Team All-American quarterback heading into his junior season. That honor belongs to USC sophomore Sam Darnold, who continues to receive a significant amount of love from the college football media on the heels of his monster performance in the 2017 Rose Bowl.

U of L does have a First Team preseason All-American for the first time in program history, though. Jaire Alexander, the junior cornerback who had a breakout 2016 season, received the honor from the Associated Press, joining Florida State junior Tavarus McFadden to make up the First Team cornerbacks.
