Thoughts: Ronald was picked up out of JUCO a couple seasons back with an opportunity to compete for time in the Cards secondary that was young in a few spots, but very talented.

Although he played in 12 games, Walker played somewhat sparingly early in 2016 until some late injuries started depleting the unit and his number was called to help fill the void. Walker grabbed a pick six against the Lamar hating asshats Wake Forest Demon Deacons and then snagged a couple tackles against Houston and UK before getting the start against LSU in the Citrus Bowl. Walker has the size and versatility to be an excellent corner but did get lost a couple times last season over the top allowing big plays to both Kentucky and LSU. I can chalk that up to limited action and trying to wrap his head around the Grantham playcall, but moving into 2017 the Cards will need him to perform in order to succeed. Sitting behind Jaire on the depth chart may not be extremely encouraging if you’re looking for play time but Alexander can’t be out there all the time, and as games get out of hand I’d love to see Walker get some more experience in case he have to have him once again late in the year.

Always great to add a talented and athletic player like Walker to help fill in the gap, hopefully he can capitalize on the opportunity this year.

Pretty cool, would love to know more about that story, maybe a local writer could read this [cough] Steve Jones [cough] and dig into it some more. “Dub Island always stays clean…cause I learned the game from a janitor”
