The Cardinals added some depth to their defense in the 2018 recruiting class over the holiday as linebackers Robert Hicks III and Thurman Geathers decided to announce their pledge to Petrino and the Cards.
Since Hicks was the first to commit, we’ll start off with him.

Hicks is a composite 3-star prospect from powerhouse Miami Central High School. He chose Louisville over other offers that included Auburn, Miami, Mississippi State, and Oregon. He is listed as high as a 4-star, according to ESPN’s recruiting service.
Just a few hours later, Georgia defensive end/linebacker Thurman Geathers decided to hop on the train and announce his commitment to Louisville.

Geathers is another composite 3-star prospect from the state of Georgia. Geathers will pass up on offers from Arkansas, TCU, N.C. State, and Maryland to play for Louisville’s new defensive coordinator, Peter Sirmon. He has some versatility to him, as he’ll be able to play as the weak-side defensive end, or stand up and play at linebacker.
Always love it when Louisville lands recruits from the Georgia/South Florida area.
Welcome to the Cards!
