Thoughts: For the first time in the history of the Countdown I’m going to do a brief recap on a player not officially listed on the roster (as of the time of this post). Why, you may ask? Two reasons, first, we got the all clear from Petrino a couple days ago, so we know he will be a Card officially at some point soon, and second, he could very well have a decent sized impact on the offense in his first year.

Colin was a consensus 4 star running back, ranked as high as #17 in the country by one recruiting service and as one of the final pieces of the 2017 class he became the Cards second highest ranked player in said class behind only CJ Avery. (Wilson was recruited by one Mr. Kolby Smith, pictured above) Wilson certainly has some speed to burn, but at 6-1/220 (unofficially) Wilson is almost the same size as Jeremy Smith, who many Cards fans see as the big “bruiser” of all the backs, and a guy who has had the benefit of being in the Cards weight and nutrition program for four years. Arriving late this year (waiting on his eligibility after taking a couple summer classes) I fully expect to see Wilson come in slightly out of shape and not ready for significant reps until a few weeks into the season, BUT, give Joe Miday a few months and we could see a true freshman take on an important role in the offense alongside Reggie and Jeremy. Give Miday a whole offseason (along with the departure of Reggie, Malik, and Jeremy), and I’d expect nothing less than an all out battle at RB between Dae Williams and Wilson in 2018. Two absolute animals.

Take a look at Colin putting together some decent runs last year…
