#52 Vince Lococo
Hometown: Louisville, KY (Product of Trinity High School)
Thoughts: Not much floating around out there about Vincent on the interwebs. Lococo is a local kid who played for the Rocks, appearing to spend the majority of his time at inside linebacker. According to the latest roster update Vincent looks like he has made a position change to fullback for the time being. If a former inside linebacker turned fullback story sounds familiar, well then you obviously read Day 54 of the countdown as Tobias Little has followed a similar trajectory thus far. Just as I mentioned a couple days ago with Tobias I’d love to see some more fullback sets this year to try and take some heat off Lamar in the run game. Call me old school, call me behind the times, but nothing quite like seeing a heavy backfield where you just run right into the teeth of the defense and pick up 6 or 7 yards. A few of those strung together opens up the passing game and next thing you know Jaylen Smith is dancing in the endzone. Good luck Lococo and Little as they fight for time at fullback and then ultimately fight for that position to get on the field more in 2017.
Sweet Tweet: Vince’s account is protected so I can’t see what Mr. Lococo is tweeting about these days but if I had to guess he’s knee deep into his playbook and learning about the fullback position. A good place to start would be the third installment of “Return of the Fullback” by SB Nation’s Ian Boyd over at Football Study Hall. A solid read for Vince, and for anyone looking to peek behind the curtain of how teams are looking to utilize the position in today’s game.
