Louisville baseball continues to see different honors and awards flood in for its players. Unsurprisingly, Brendan McKay has seen his name mentioned among these awards, but other Cardinals are not being left out.
On Thursday, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named McKay as the National Player of the Year for 2017.

It was also announced that McKay and Drew Ellis were named as semifinalists for the 40th USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the top amateur baseball player in the U.S.
Louisville is one of three schools (the other two are Virginia and Oregon State) with multiple semifinalists at two apiece. The ACC leads all other conferences in number of semifinalists with six.
The 2017 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award trophy presentation will be on Thursday, June 29th.
