Thoughts: Really hoping that the story of Emonee Spence in a Louisville uniform doesn’t turn into a narrative of “what could have been”. As many athletes do, Spence has struggled to stay healthy in his first two seasons on campus, battling a hamstring injury as a freshman and then missing the entire 2016 season due to a foot injury suffered last fall. As a third year Sophomore not many fans know much about Spence or his ability to impact the game yet, but in an alternate universe (one in which he stayed healthy the last two seasons) Emonee could very well be a starting wideout this season opposite classmate Jaylen Smith.
Many seem to forget that Emonee was a 3/4 star recruit out of high school who was actually the second highest rated wideout in the class (behind Devonte Peete). Not only does he have some length (6-3) but he has some wheels, and enough strength and elusiveness to be a YAC monster, something Petrino highlighted in the Spring as a carryover from his great fall practices last season. Spence got some second team run in the Spring (some due to injuries) and seemed to perform well when called upon. I don’t think he’ll unseat Jaylen or Seth Dawkins but he will absolutely be in the rotation with Dez, Peete, Savage, and Bagley on the outside (not including any true freshmen). If Spence stays healthy I think he starts showing folks what he can do this year and begins to push for significant PT heading into 2018.

Move in silence.

Move in silence, huh?
I got a 4 year old daughter, a 1 year old son, two dogs, and a wife that goes at 100 miles an hour in everything she does…my house ain’t exactly on board with the whole “move in silence” faction, but you do you.
