Glover Cook, running back from Ocala-Vanguard High, commits to Louisville

The Cardinals start off the 2019 class with a running back from Florida.

University of Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino kicked off the 2019 class Friday afternoon by securing the verbal commitment of running back Glover Cook from the talent-rich state of Florida.

Cook plays for Ocala-Vanguard high, a Class 6A program an hour north of Orlando. He earned All-Marion County honorable mention after playing his first season of varsity football.

Cook is currently listed as standing at 6’0” and weighing in at 170 pounds. Right now, the recruiting services haven’t graded recruits that far in advance, but as it stands, Louisville is his only scholarship offer. He was offered that scholarship from the Cardinals on May 10th, and he decided to give his verbal pledge just nine days later. Obviously, there are still a couple more years to go before Cook will sign his LOI, and if he is truly talented, the coaching staff will have to fight off other in-state powerhouse programs.

Welcome to the Cardinals, Glover!
