Bobby Petrino and the Cardinals continue to mine the talent in the Sunshine State.

The Louisville Cardinals have had success in getting talented players from the state of Florida in the past.

That streak continued Thursday night as 3-star wide receiver Akeem Hayes announced he’ll play for Bobby Petrino.

Hayes is a 5’10” receiver from Pompano Beach, Florida. He currently holds offers from Louisville, Temple, Wake Forest, FAU, Marshall, N.C. State, Oregon State, and Oregon.

Louisville continues to strengthen its pipeline in the talent-rich state of Florida. For the 2018 class, the Cardinals currently have five commitments. Every one of those five commits comes from the state of Florida. Of those five, only one is a composite 4-star player (cornerback Trenell Troutman), but we’ve seen what Bobby Petrino can do with 3-star talent (hint: think Heisman).

Welcome to the Cards, Akeem!
