A day after getting some good news on the recruiting trail, there comes a disheartening announcement that junior forward Mariya Moore will transfer from the program. Moore has decided to play somewhere closer to the West Coast, according to the Courier-Journal.

Moore, who is from Hercules, California, wanted to head back closer to her home so that her family would be able to watch her play during her final season of eligibility.

The school gave Moore her full release.

Moore will leave Louisville ranking in the top-10 in assists in program history. For her junior season, she averaged 12 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game. She did so while playing in 36 games and averaging 31.9 minutes per game.

Coach Jeff Walz had this to say about the news of Moore:

"I wish her well," Walz said. "We are excited about our returning players and will put all our efforts into them."

Best of luck to Moore wherever she decides to finish out her college career.
