Everyone seems to have their own metric these days, and while they’re all fun to discuss, the only thing that really matters anymore (at least as it pertains to the national title race) are the thoughts and opinions of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

Still it’s April 10 and the first CFP rankings don’t come out for like six and a half months, so we have to work with what we got. What we got at the moment is the initial Football Power Index from ESPN, which regards Louisville as the 14th-best team in the country.

You can see the full rankings here, or you can just catch the rundown of where U of L’s 2017 opponents rank below:

Purdue - No. 99

North Carolina - No. 35

Clemson - No. 7

Kent State - No. 115

Murray State - NR

NC State - No. 22

Boston College - No. 70

Florida State - No. 4

Wake Forest - No. 54

Virginia - No. 71

Syracuse - No. 45

Kentucky - No. 34
