Recap: Cards Fall in ACC Semis

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

For most of the game Louisville and Notre Dame played each other pretty evenly.  In fact the halftime score was 33-33.  However, despite only being down 2 going into the last quarter the Cards seemed to run out of gas.  They struggled to keep their deficit under 6 but went down 66-75 with a few minutes to go.  After the requisite late game fouls the final score was 73-84.

In his pre-game speech Coach Walz said that if anyone was "standing around flat-footed' he was going to sub them out no questions asked.  Kylee Shook had a poor game against NC State and seemed to take this threat to heart and she raised her play today.  She made several clutch 3s and finished the game with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Mariya Moore is still in a bit of a shooting slump but she did have 8 assists.  Myisha Hines-Allen had another double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds).  Asia Durr had 13 points in the third quarter alone and finished the game with 26.

The Cards will find out their tournament fate in Selection Show on Monday, March 13th at 7PM on ESPN.
