Louisville jumped out to a 14-2 lead over Wake Forest and things seemed to be running smoothly. Then WF coach Jen Hoover subbed out the entire starting lineup and they began to chip away at the Card's lead. Free throws also kept Wake in it. Kylee Shook got 2 fouls in the first 24 seconds of the game. Sam Fuehring also got two quick fouls. One was a Flagrant 1 on what seemed to be an inadvertent knee or foot to the head on a scramble for a loose ball. Coach Walz disagreed with the call which led to him getting called for a technical foul. Louisville went into halftime shooting zero free throws of their own and with a slim 31-27 lead.
In the second half it seemed Louisville remembered that we have Myisha Hines-Allen and you don't. The Cards started going to her on every possession. She scored the first six points of the half, drew fouls, and got a steal and a assist all in the first few minutes of the 3rd quarter. Wake Forest had no answer and committed a slew of turnovers and found themselves in a deep hole that they couldn't climb out of. The were down 20 at the end of the quarter and eventually lost 75-46.
Myisha finished the game with yet another double-double (22pts/12reb) and Asia Durr added 15 points after only scoring 2 in the first half. Sydney Zambrotta had 10 points.
Louisville finishes the regular season 25-6. They enter the ACC tournament in Conway, SC as a 5 seed and will play the winner of the Virginia Tech/Clemson on March 2nd at 11AM on RSN/Fox.
