South Oldham standout Jo Griffin announced on Twitter Saturday morning that he has accepted a walk-on spot on the Louisville basketball team for next season.
February 25, 2017
A 6’1 point guard, Griffin has over 1,200 points in his high school career, and led the Dragons to the 8th region title a year ago. He scored 32 points in a game against Eminence that was attended by Rick Pitino earlier this month. Pitino received the recommendation to check out Griffin from current Cardinal walk-on David Levitch.
South Oldham fell to Oldham County in the 29th district championship game Friday night, but Griffin and company will still have a chance to defend their region title next week. Griffin will head into that tournament averaging just over 21.0 points per game.
