Despite getting a pre-game pep talk from Cardinal legend Angel McCoughtry, Louisville started the game again Georgia Tech slowly and sloppily. They had 10 turnovers in the first half and and only 9 points with a couple of minutes left in the first quarter. At one point Louisville was down 11-20.
Then Asia Durr happened.

In front of her hometown crowd she scored 27 points on 10 of 13 shooting in the first half. The Cards charged back to take a 46-34 lead into halftime.
Still, the Yellow Jackets are a tough, physical team and they still had plenty of fight left in them. Zaire O’Neil made a layup with 5 seconds left in the game to tie it at 71. Louisville called a timeout and everyone assumed that Asia Durr would get the final shot. Instead it went to Myisha Hines-Allen who drove for a layup to give the Cards a 2 point lead. After another timeout Jazmine Jones stole the ball on the Georgia Tech inbounds, got fouled, and added a free throw to give Louisville their first ACC win this season.
Asia Durr finished the game with 38 points. Myisha Hines-Allen added 12 points and a team high 9 rebounds.
Louisville (15-0) is on the road again against NC State on New Year’s Eve. The game is at 2:30 and can be seen on RSN.
