Kentucky has opened as a 6.5-point favorite over Louisville in Friday’s Battle for the Bluegrass game in Lexington. There is no over/under number for the game as of the time of this posting.
The spread, if it holds, will be the largest in a Louisville-Kentucky game since the 2012-13 Cardinal team that wound up winning the national title was a 7.5-point favorite over the Wildcat team that ended up in the NIT. It will also be the heaviest underdog U of L has been in a game against UK since the Cards were 8-point dogs in the 2012 Final Four game.
This will be the fourth straight game against Kentucky that Louisville will go into as the underdog. Favorites have failed to cover the spread in this series in eight of the last nine meetings.
