Donovan Mitchell’s rookie season was already off to a rousing start, but Friday night he took things to a different level.
Mitchell set a Jazz rookie record with 41 points, which is more than departed star Gordon Hayward ever scored during his time in Salt Lake. That wasn’t the only staggering part of the former Cardinal standout’s performance.
Donovan Mitchell is the first rookie to score 40 points in an NBA game since Blake Griffin on Jan. 17, 2011.
