Louisville WBB concluded it’s stretch of domination over the state of Tennessee this week by defeating Tennessee State. In the Cards’ last four games they beat teams from across the border by an average of 37.5 points. Several members of the men’s basketball team were in attendance tonight so hopefully they were inspired by the ladies to carry this winning streak through their game with Memphis State this weekend.
Though the score doesn’t indicate it, Tennessee State was plucky. They fought hard until the final buzzer sounded and had some good moments. Louisville simply had better players than they did. However, the Cards did come up short in one major battle.
Quite the contrast in styles on the sidelines tonight between Louisville’s Jeff Walz and Tennessee State’s Jessica Kern … pic.twitter.com/f1BWZ4PXTB

Jessica Kern is my new style icon. On the infamous Ugly Holiday Sweater night Coach Purcell got out-dressed. Sorry, Coach, but it’s true.
Louisville had 7 players finish the game in double figures. Sam Fuehring, Asia Durr, and Jazmine Jones all had 12. Jazmine had the best play of the game. While sitting on the floor after diving out of bounds for a loose ball she vaulted herself up and over the ball when it rolled back her way. The play got the crowd hyped and drew a big smile from her coach.

After the game Coach Walz was unhappy with his team’s 17 turnovers calling their play “sloppy” and “not focused.” He also said that sophomore Bionca Dunham is good for one 3 seconds call a game and that she’s too far along as a player for that.
Next up is the big rivalry game with Kentucky. The Cards travel to Lexington this Sunday the 17th at 3pm. The game can be seen on SECN.
