U of L announced Saturday morning that junior cornerback Jaire Alexander will miss the team’s game against Wake Forest. Alexander broke a bone in his hand this week in practice.
The 2017 season continues to be a frustrating one for Alexander, who was a preseason Associated Press All-American.
Alexander suffered a leg injury while trying to return a blocked field goal in the first half of Louisville’s season-opener against Purdue. That injury forced him to sit out the next four games. He returned to the field in a limited capacity against NC State, and then started the next week against Boston College, but left that game with another leg injury.
Here’s hoping Jaire can get get everything back to 100 percent. He still stands to be paid a lot of money to play this game some day.
