3-Star OL commits to Louisville

A position of need on the Cardinals roster just got a big boost.

Days leading up to National Signing Day are usually pretty fast-paced and exciting (or disheartening) as some of the top-rated prospects announce what school they will attend, while other already committed athletes sometimes decide that their initial choice may not be the one they want to go through with, and end up switching allegiances.

Today, to the excitement of just about every Cardinal fan, Bobby Petrino and staff were able to secure another pledge from an offensive lineman for 2017.

Toryque Bateman, a composite 3-star from Gadsden, Alabama, decided to further his playing career at the University of Louisville. He holds offers from most notably Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.

With the commitment of Bateman, that moves Louisville’s class back up to 22 commits after last night’s loss of Ben Hutch. The Cardinals now have four offensive linemen in the fold for 2017.

Lamar ought to be smiling right about now.
