Louisville opens as a 12-point favorite over Syracuse

Four days after comfortably covering a 38.5-point spread against Charlotte, Louisville is favored to defeat Syracuse by 14.5 points Friday night at the Carrier Dome. The spread opened at U of L -12 and quickly jumped a couple of points in the direction of the Cardinals.

Syracuse opened its 2016 season last Friday with a 33-7 win over Colgate. Orange quarterback Eric Dungey was 34-of-40 for 355 yards and two touchdowns. The 355 yards were the ninth-most ever by a Syracuse quarterback. As a team, the Orange complete school record 87 percent of their passes.

Louisville is 8-6 all-time in games against Syracuse, and has won five of the last six meetings.
