The University of Louisville placed 346 student-athletes on the 60th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll for the 2015-16 academic year, the league announced on Thursday.
The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 4,367 student-athletes for their hard work in the classroom this year.
The Cardinals' 346 honorees ranked as the fifth-highest total among any school in the league, trailing Duke (480), Notre Dame (414), North Carolina (390), and Boston College (356).
Earlier in the academic year, three Cardinals were named ACC Scholar Athletes of the Year in their respective sports: Maryssa Becker (softball), Kelsi Worrell (women's swimming and diving), and Katie George (volleyball).
Louisville's academic success also was noted nationally, as four teams - men's basketball, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's golf - ranked among the top 10 percent in their respective sports in the latest APR, which measures academic eligibility, retention and graduation for student-athletes. All four sports programs have a perfect 1000 score for the most recent four-year period from 2011-15.
