#39 John Stitch
Class: Senior
Ht/Wt: 5-10/185
Position: Defensive Back
Hometown: Simpsonville, KY (Product of Trinity High School)
Twitter: N/A
Thoughts: Not much on the interwebs about Mr. Stitch, so I’m going to do something I’ve never done in the five years of writing this countdown….I’m just gonna make something up.
John grew up on a small farm out in Simpsonville, always willing to do whatever needed to be done at home to help out the family. Milk the cows? He’d do it. Feed the chickens? He’s on it. Herd the sheep? Consider it done. Being raised on a farm wasn’t always easy for John but he knew that if he put his mind to it, he could accomplish anything. Fast forward 10 years and John finds himself an official member of the University of Louisville football team. His hands are lightening fast…from you know, milking cows. His foot speed it unparalleled…probably from chasing those sheep around the yard, and his strength is uncanny, especially for a man weighing in at a buck ninety soaking wet. Farm strong they say. Always the underdog but never let his head hang. Once considered a wideout John now roams the corners looking for pick sixes and dreaming of open pasture. Not many farm boys grow up to be Division-I athletes but John-boy had a wish and a prayer….and that’s tougher to stop than a head of cattle at full speed.
Sorry for the complete fabrication of your life John, but I thought it sounded pretty sweet. Thanks for your hard work Stitch. Hope you enjoy that knew Outlet Mall out there in Simpsonville.
Sweet Tweet: No twitter that I could find For John. Not getting to scroll through his timeline I really feel like we had a…a…missed connection. Similar to these folks who posted the following on Craigslist (Louisville)…these are all 100% legit.
Walmart, Poplar Level - Saw you today, about five thirty standing out front by the doors. You had jeans with at least one hole. A lite green shirt with numbers on the front. The number??. You are very beautiful.
(Sounds like 50% of the people shopping at Walmart. Good luck with that one buddy.)
Westend - Went into store looking for something and you helped me find it on 7/2 in west end. If you see this what was i looking for and where was i going.
(I feel like the descriptions are going to have to slightly more specific here folks to find your match. Do you know how many people were “looking for something” in a store that day? Come on man.)
Jeffersontown- I was driving a law mow truck at blankenbacker by the 64 bridge when I saw you and I was looking at you and was with you man in motorcycle and I was looking at you when you look at me and you have me most beautiful smile so hope you can read this and get reply from you and love to know you and for sure more than that...
(Like Shakespeare reincarnated..)

#39 Aaron Floyd
Class: Sophomore
Ht/Wt: 5-10/172
Position: Cornerback
Hometown: Florence Y’all
Twitter: @GrandpaCB_39_
Thoughts: Floyd will likely start the season as a practice player for the Cards this year, adding some depth to a position where the coaches are looking for some talented warm bodies. I liked what I saw from Jaire Alexander last year and at least for right now, he has actually unseated Shaq for the starting gig. Cards also return Washington and Cannon (two Juniors). I’d like to see one or two freshman or Sophomores get some significant reps this year and begin the “grooming process” of becoming a very big piece of the secondary in 2017/18. Maybe Floyd can work himself into that position as the season wears on.
Sweet Tweet:
Why is Tecmo Bowl trending? None of our generation played that game haha

But MY generation did…and it was magical.
In case you missed it, this is why Tecmo Bowl was trending a couple weeks back. Merry Christmas to every 30-35 year old in the country.

#39 Austin Laszewski
Class: Freshman
Ht/Wt: 6-0/169
Position: Kicker
Hometown: Hollywood, FL
Twitter: @AustinLaszewski
Thoughts: Austin joined the program earlier this year as preferred walk-on from Chaminade Madonna College Prep down in the old pipeline state of Florida. Austin came in town (Louisville) for a camp last summer, developed a relationship with the coaches, and feel in love with the University. When the opportunity arose to walk-on he jumped on it.
Austin is actually one of FIVE, yes five, placekickers the Cardinals are currently carrying on their roster. Fall ball should be very interesting at the PK position as I think 3 and maybe even 4 guys have a legitimate shot at kicking in 2016. I’m not the type of guy to boss people around but I strongly urge people to take an interest in this battle leading up to and even during the season. As much crap as Wallace took last year for Clemson, Houston, and the bowl, imagine if we are in the position where we can’t consistently hit “chip shot” field goals or even miss a few PATs early in the year? Suddenly that position viewed as an afterthought becomes a big issue.
Once two or three guys emerge I assume you’ll see some roster spots open next year as most of these players are young (4 of 5 are Sophomore or Freshman) and likely wouldn’t burn 2 years of eligibility as a backup.
