The Louisville baseball team will face UC-Santa Barbara in a best-of-3 super regional this weekend at Jim Patterson to determine which of those two squads will advance to the College World Series. The dates and times of those games will be announced later.
The Gauchos, a No. 2 seed, will bring a 40-18-1 record with them to the Derby City this weekend. They won their regional without ever having to face top seed Vanderbilt, knocking off No. 3 seed Washington 3-2 before defeating Xavier in back-to-back games by a combined score of 19-9.

This is the 10th NCAA Tournament that UCSB has appeared in, but the first time that the Gauchos have advanced to a super regional. The team struggled with injuries at various points this season, but got healthy at the perfect time. They hit a modest .260 as a team, and have a solid No. 1 starter in Shane Bieber (12-3, 2.96 ERA).
I don't know much about this Gaucho, but his obvious bond with Quacky (or some sort of Quacky family member) speaks volumes about his character.
