Louisville-Florida State on Sept. 17 will be a noon kick on ABC

Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in over a decade, Louisville football will be hosting a marquee opponent inside Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in a game that will be played on a Saturday. Much to the chagrin of U of L fans, we now know that game will be kicking off at noon.

The ACC announced the television coverage and the kickoff times for Louisville's first three games of 2016, and here's what it looks like:

Sept. 1 (Thurs): Louisville vs. Charlotte -- Regional Network, 7 p.m.

Sept. 9 (Fri.): Louisville at Syracuse -- ESPN2, 8 p.m.

Sept. 17: Louisville vs. Florida State -- ABC, 12 p.m.

The league also announced that the Dr. Pepper ACC Championship Game on Dec. 3rd will be played at 7:45 p.m. or 8 in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.

I don't think I hate nooners quite as much as the majority of U of L fans do, but I'm also not going to lie to you and say this doesn't feel like a swift kick to the balls. I was hoping to have at least until 3:30 to soak in the fact that a (presumably) top 10 Florida State team was about to take the Cards' best shot in front of a national TV audience on a Saturday afternoon.

This just means we start tailgating that Friday at midnight.
