2016 Louisville Football Recruiting: Offensive Guard Poutasi Poutasi commits to the Cards

The Cardinals went out West and nabbed a commit to help solidify the offensive line.

While the most recent trend in recruiting for the Cardinals has shown that the staff has made it an effort to head in to the heart of Georgia, Alabama, and other southern recruiting grounds to grab talent for the future, the staff has also made impressions on recruits out west. Poutasi Poutasi, a 6'4"/280 lbs offensive guard, has decided to commit to the Louisville program this past Sunday evening.

Coming from Las Vegas, Nevada, Poutasi is currently rated as a composite 3-star prospect, the 52nd ranked offensive guard, and 11th highest rated recruit out of the state of Nevada. He currently holds offers from the Cardinals and the University of Nevada. While holding two offers, he has garnered interest from other programs in UCLA, Arizona, Cal, and UNVL.

Poutasi is currently the 4th commitment in the 2017 class, and he is the only commit out of those four not to be coming up from the South. Despite the lack of scholarship offers from other Power 5 schools, Poutasi could easily fall in to the "hidden gem" category that goes along with Bobby Petrino recruiting. Especially since his primary recruiter is Chris Klenakis, I don't think he would take the time to travel out to Nevada for a recruit he didn't fully believe in.

Welcome to the Cards, Poutasi!
